Julep Maven October 2014 Unboxing

I will just come right out and say this I am not a fan of Halloween. I never liked it as a child and I like it even less as an adult so Halloween themed things usually do not entice me. When I saw this months theme was black magic I assumed I was going to skip it. Then I saw it, the Night Shift Sleeping Mask. No way was I skipping this box even if I wasn't fond of the color choices.

October is the Black Magic collection. The box I picked is Classic with a Twist. It included Logan, a sultry aubergine shimmer and DeAnn, a ripe loganberry creme. And of course the reason why I didn't skip the box this month, the Night Shift Sleeping mask.

Logan is on the left and DeAnn the right.

Julep included a sneak peak of next months box. "Lavish Lashes" They are releasing two new mascaras. One is promised to give length and the other volume.

What box did you pick this month? Are you looking forward to the mascara release?

A Little Beauty Haul!

When the husband is away the wife will...SHOP!  The shopping trip originally started out as a quest for the new Milani Fall 2014 Limited Edition Bedazzled Collection. I really want the Constellation Gel Liners and the Enchanted Ruby lipstick! I went to 4 different CVS stores and 4 different Walgreens stores with ZERO luck! Of course that didn't stop me from purchasing a few things.

Up first Target. I knew I wanted the new Maybelline Creamy Matte lipstick in touch of Spice so I went to 3 different Targets the past two days searching for it with no luck! But I did end up picking these babies up.

655 Daringly Nude, 690 Siren in Scarlet, and 695 Divine Wine.

Then I went to Walmart and picked up one thing I needed and a few things I didn't. We all know how that goes.

The one thing I needed was conditioner. I'm about out of my current one.

Then I started wandering through the beauty aisles and saw the new Freeman Beauty masks I've been meaning to try.
I love the Charcoal and Black Sugar Scrub I'm so excited to test this one out. It says for normal/combo skin and I have extremely dry skin but its acne prone.
LOVE THIS. Have a full review on it. Its the best mask I've ever used.
This is a brand new mask from Freeman Beauty. Hoping it lives up to the hype!

Lastly I noticed my Walmart had a Milani display so I ended up picking up another one of their lipsticks in Naturally Chic

These are all the beauty related things I bought these past few days! I'm going to do another post with the non-beauty items I purchased. Have you guys bought any new products lately?! Let me know below.

August Julep Maven Unboxing

If you don't know what the Julep subscription box is...WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! Seriously, Julep is my favorite nail polish brand!

Into the goodies! This month is the Wanderlust Collection. I picked the Classic with a Twist box this month. Originally this box included a Gel Eye Glider, Avni: African violet shimmer and Katie: orchid iridescent chrome. I was really really looking forward to my box! In case you don't know I LOVE purple. About a week after I picked my box I received an email from Julep saying there was a problem with my billing and because it didn't go through the first time I didn't get my first pick colors and they were going to have to sub out 1 or more of my colors. I was dreading getting my box after that because I was really looking forward to both colors. My box finally arrived and I was pleasantly surprised. It still contained Avni but Katie had been replaced (insert 100 sad faces). I flip over the mystery polish and it was Queen Anne! An add on polish I hadn't originally ordered and regretted it. So happy that they replaced my much wanted Katie with the extremely gorgeous Queen Anne!

First CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS TISSUE PAPER?!

Okay onto the box!
Queen Anne
Avni
I chose the gel eye glider in smokey purple! It translates dark on camera.
One last picture of Queen Anne because I'm in love!

Julep knocked it out of the park again with this collection! What box did you choose this month? Are you enjoying your picks?

Freeman Facial Sleeping Mask Honeydew and Chamomile

THIS MASK!!! Lets just start out with that. I cannot get enough of this mask. I've gone through 3 or 4 of these sachet packs already!

Lets dive right into this (I'm currently watching shark week)

This is the direct description of the mask from the Freeman Beauty website:
"...Our overnight sleeping mask wig antioxidant-rich honeydew and calming chamomile is just the thing for rejuvenating skin. Deep moisturizing coconut oil makes rough skin a thing of the past, and dimethizone dramatically smooths. Conditioning jojoba oil and moisture-binding silk amino acids deeply nourish. Rinse upon waking to reveal well-rested skin thats ready to face the day! Perfect for dehydrated skin."

When I use this mask my skin feels its best! Even better than when I use my rich night creams. On nights I use this I wash my face and do nothing else to it. I do not put on my serum or toner. I squeeze out a blob (so technical) about the size of a quarter.

I rub this in all over my face and down my neck. I concentrate a lot on my cheeks because that is the driest part of my face.

The texture: it has a very "silicone-y" feel to me. Very similar to the Maybelline baby skin primer. I personally LOVE the feeling. It makes my skin feel so smooth and so hydrated. The mask dries completely in about 5 minutes. When its dry it doesn't transfer onto my hands but my skin still feels silky.

The scent: the scent is very distinct. To my unsophisticated nose it smells like straight honey dew. I can't detect any chamomile. When I first opened the packet I immidiately had a flash back to a scent from my middle school days...the Cucumber Melon body lotions from Bath and Body Works
(picture from gurl.com)

When I rinse this off in the morning my skin feels so soft and hydrated. It still feels like I have the mask on (in a good way!). My skin looks dewy and plump. My make up goes on smoother and it doesn't cling to any (non existent after using this mask) dry patches that would normally be there.

This product is definitely a 10/10 for me. I cannot find a single fault with this expect for it not being in a full size tube. I have ask Freeman on their Instagram (@freemanbeauty) if they will be making this into a full size tube and they have not answered me but the general thought is that if it does well in the sachet packet they will manufacture it into their full size tubes.

Do any of you remember that bath and body works scent? I feel like every girl in my class wore this!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Sharon. I recently started this blog as a way to share my thoughts and reviews on my skincare, makeup, and nail polish collection! I just want to get this out in the open right from the beginning. I am in no way, shape, or form an expert. I am just someone who loves all things beauty related!

Here's a little snap of my face!

Now onto the fun stuff! I am a twenty something mother and wife. I have a 3 year old son and 3 fur children. We currently live in the Sunshine State but we make home where ever the Navy sends us. When I'm not searching the clearance bins for new products to try I spend my time crocheting and baking.

I am a nail polish junkie! I'm not at all talented in the nail art department but I love a simple manicure. My collection is close to 250 currently and I'm trying to put together and organize a "challenge" for myself to make use of my collection!

A little bit about my skin. I suffered from deep cystic jawline acne most of my adult life. I have managed to keep that under control without the use of prescription medicines. I never had acne as a teenager but once I gave birth to my son my face turned into a mess. I have blackheads and an occasional deep pimple. My skin is very very VERY dry. I have no oil production at all. I have hyper pigmentation and acne scarring. So in short, I'm trying to combat Sahara desert conditions on my face, adult acne, and anti-aging all at once!

I hope yous all enjoy my blog! Feel free to leave a little about yourself down below in the comments! I look forward to chatting with you all!
